Rustic Items to Chic Decor
Graphic designer Steve Supple said, “Nothing is what it was intended to be, in the hands of a creative person.” This quote is perfect for our theme of our website in repurposing old items into room décor. Some people would just trash old items not knowing that they could reuse those items in a creative way. When the Michigan Council of Women in Technology announced their 9th annual web design contest was the theme of Repurposing: The Ultimate in Creativity and Recycling, we knew that this theme was perfect for our two creative minds. To us repurposing means, to take something old and unusable and transform it into something totally different. Our website will share with people how we are able to take something ancient and turn it into room decor. For this project we will be repurposing an old book, a globe, and toilet paper rolls, once these items are finished, maybe they will be shared of HGTV.

My overall impression of Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 was a good impression. I think that the coolest element was the quick selection tool. The four main things that nonprofessional photographers would use Photoshop for are How do I keep track of my photos, How to make photos look better, how to present photos in a creative way, and how do I share my photos with other people. In quick fix there are three ways to apply edits which include: clicking the auto button, using the slide bar or choosing the thumbnail previews. In the video we learned that saturation is the intensity of color. We also learned that hue is simply just color. In the tutorials we learned the quick fix interface, the quick fix controls, adjusting lighting, adjusting color and using the touch up tool in quick fix. One question that I have is how do i get this program to use at home. |
