I love this blog "We're on this Journey Together" from Scott Marby. He posted a poem titled "What I Want For You." Knowing that I am graduating in a week, this poem really made me think about what I want for my future. https://michaelhyatt.com/clutter-free-workspace.html#more-35835 A blog from Michael Hyatt titled "5 Steps to a Clutter-Free Work Space" really gave me some good tips for my dorm room in college. He says that a serene, organized environment guarantees that your brain is not distracted by things; instead it sees high level tasks.

If you want to be successful in life you need to give up on your excuses, perfectionism, and toxic people. Giving up on your excuses is important because to be successful you have to know that you are responsible for your own life. Also, you need to know that not everything is going to be perfect no matter how hard you try. Don't be afraid to fail becuase it is okay to fail. Lastly, give up on those toxic people holding you down. The people who we spend time with the most, turn into the people we are today. If you're alwaysaround negative people you aren't going to be a very happy person either.
“On your last day on earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.” — Anonymous I love this quote, when you are dying you shouldn't have regrets on the things you didn't do in life. Live your life to the fullest potential. To pick yourself up after someone tears you down, you should: have empathy for the other party, forgive yourself, and focus on your tribe. You should have empathy for the other party becuase you need to understand where they are coming from and forgive them. Also, you need to forgive yourself because if your confidence is down then you're going to beat yorself up about it. Lastly, focus on your tribe or the friends and family who truly beleive in you.
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ ”I love this quote because you shouldn't be scared because you can do anything you put your mind to. Gaining strength, courage and confidence from experiances will only make you stronger. I beleive that Janet is a very strong women, I could only imagine how hard things were for her but she didn't let anything stop her. Happy + My life is great, I have what a need and amazing people in my life. I have no reason not to be happy everyday.
Healthy + I am strong and very healthy and I couldn't be anymore grateful for that. Reasonably Prosperous+ I believe that I am reasonably prosperous. I have what I need in life to succeed. Secure+ Friends + I have amazing friends in my life who support me and motivate me everyday to be a better person. Peace of mind+ I have pretty positive mindset. I do have bad days every once in a while, but everyday is a new day and the past is the past. You can't change what happened. Good family relationships + My family and I are very close. The help me through a lot and I help them. Hope + I have a lot of hope for my future. I belive that if you put your mind to something and stick to it, it can be done. In the article "15 Qualities of Mentally Tough People" the two qualities that I think that I need to work on would be getting enough sleep and knowing that fear is the number one source of regret. I need to work on getting more sleep every night. Between school, homework, soccer and work I barely have time to myself. Doing everything in one day is tiring and stressful. Not getting enough sleep makes it worse. Also, I think I need to work on knowing that fear is the number one source of regret because it is true. I know that there is times where I regret doing things and most of the time its because I am scared. I think that I am good at embracing change. It isn't hard for me to adapt to changes because I am super flexible and keep an open mind.
I asked my mom what are two things from the article, that she thinks she needs to improve on and one thing she thinks she is good at being confident. In her work place and at home, she is confident with everything she does. At home I can see it. She thinks that she needs to work on getting enough sleep and limiting her caffeine intake. She doesn't get much sleep because she is always busy with work. As a result of that, she tends to drink a lot of coffee. In John C. Maxwell's article "How to Carve Out your Life's Passions" he stated many good points. The first point I related to was "you don't just find your passion; you have to pursue it." I relate to this because before my junior year, I did not know what I wanted to do in life. After the first trimester in medical one, I knew that i waned to help people the rest of my lie. I also related to "become the best." In the article he says "you can have all the passion in the world, but if you don’t have the skill, you won’t be able to make your passion your profession. Look for ways to expand and fine-tune your skills." You have to push your self to become the best. It isn't going to come over night, it takes time.
The article "Why You Should Be a Student of Your Own Life" has some great advice in it. The article states that the way we learn something is by doing it wrong. When you make mistakes, you learn from them. They also said that you can learn from other people whether they have done right or wrong. You can do what they do right but also when they do things wrong, they give you warnings on what not to do. Lastly, the article states that you have to be a good reader and listener. It is important to read everyday because it strengthens your mind.
http://www.success.com/article/rohn-why-you-should-be-a-student-of-your-own-life "You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you." I love this quote from Brian Tracy because I believe that it is very important to keep a positive attitude. Even if you are going through tough times, you shouldn't be negative and take it out on other people, nobody is going to want to be around you. If you stay positive during this time in your life, you will help yourself. Everyone has their moments in life when something goes wrong, don't let those moments affect your attitude towards life.
Brian Tracy is the Chairman and CEO of Brian Tracy International, a company specializing in the training and development of individuals and organizations. "There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind." — C.S. Lewis I absolutely love this quote because it is so true. There are so many better things to look forward to. You should not be thinking about your past because the past is the past. You cannot change your past and I believe that that is a good thing. You learn a lot from your past. |
