This week I continued to complete my daily work. I have had a ton of work to do this past week and I some how managed to finish all of my work. Which includes filing the charts of the patients that the doctors had seen that day and scanning in labs. I also go to help the pacemaker nurses this week. I helped them file/organize the charts in their side of the office. I also got to help them make all the new patients charts. I had to look the patient up on the computer and put all their contact information on the front of the chart.
http://www.bestcollegevalues.org/15-proven-tips-for-being-successful-in-a-college-class/ This article gives you tips on how to be successful in college. Which tip or tips do you think is most helpful? Why? Do you use any of these tips now? If so, which ones and do they help? If not, do you think you should? This week at Eastlake I have been doing tasks that I have been doing in the past. They have me doing a ton of filing. They also have me scanning in a lot of labs from so many different hospitals. Sometimes it gets confusing but I figure it out. I also have been doing loose filing, I have to put the papers in alphabetical order and then find the chart that the paper belongs to.
Of the 15 disney rules, the one that I disagree with is the height limit to be a princess. You are required to be 5'4 to 5'8. I do not think thats fair because some girls are shorter and some are taller. I do agree with the rule that you can not post on social media about what you are doing for your job. (Picture: something you don't know, I play soccer) This week at East Lake has been good just like past weeks. I mostly have done scanning in the same type of labs and filing back patient charts. We started moving the 2016 files upstairs too. I have been helping one of the other workers in the medical records office. I helped him make new patient charts and put lose filing in the correct chart. Also, I got to help him scan in other types of paper work. They all have a a lot to do in one day and I try to help the as much as I can.
This past week I have been doing a ton of filing! They have me filing back charts from that day and also the charts from another one of their offices. There is so many files upstairs, it's crazy! Other than filing, I have also scanned labs. Everyone is continuing to be super friendly!!
At East Lake I am very good at keeping things organized. Sometimes it's not easy with all the charts everywhere but it needs to be kept organized so the office is able to run properly. Something I can work on is completing my tasks thoroughly. Since the office is super busy, I have so much to do in 2 hours. I try to work as fast as I can but also making sure everything is correct. This week at East Lake has been great just like past weeks. I have been doing lots of filing charts and shifting all the charts around so that all of them can fit. I started filing past year files from another office location, upstairs. It's kinda scary up there. They have 2013-2015 files up there and the years files before that get shredded. I also have been scanning different labs too.
I feel that the hardest interview question would have to be "what is one of your weaknesses?" To me that's a hard question because when you're looking for a job you want to let your employers know the good things about you and not the bad. I would answer it saying that I am a perfectionist and that everything I do has to be perfect. If it's not I have to go back and redo or fix whatever it was. So therefore I do waste time going back to make it perfect. (Picture- Something I would wear to an interview) This week I did more filing charts back and scanning labs into the computer. There are so many patient charts! Almost everyday they have over 100 patients come in to visit one of the 17 doctors that are employed at East Lake. I learned how to scan in some new labs this week so that I am able to help with the scanning that they do everyday. I wouldn't have thought that medical records would be so busy!
If I won the Powerball jackpot the first thing I would do is donate some of the money to charity and give some to help find a cure to cancer. I definitely would give a lot of it to my parents because they do everything for me and they do deserve it. I may even send them on a vacation without my sister and I so they can get away from everything. Even if I did have all that money I would still work. I don't like having things just handed to me, i want to know that I earned it. Each week keeps getting better. Still continuing to meet new people and look more about the facility. It's huge! I found out that there's an upstairs with all of the patient charts from previous years. This week I did more filing and scanning in labs. I wish I could do more but it's okay because I'm enjoying working there.
In my opinion it doesn't look good to your employer to be late. I always try to get there 5 to 10 minutes early. If I'm going to be late then I would call them and let them know. My employer understands that I'm coming from school and I may be a couple minutes late. They are very flexible though and it helps a lot. This week I have been basically doing the same stuff as past weeks, filing charts back and scanning labs into the computer. It gets pretty boring at times but I do not mind it at all because the experience is great. Just being in the office would be a great experience. Getting used to the environment around me is going to help a lot in the future. I'm excited for future weeks to come and to see what they will have me doing.
I feel that the most important quality to have in a work place environment is hard working. At any job you should be hard working because it shows that you care about your work and what you're doing. I would say that I am pretty hard working. Everyday I work my hardest to get my work done quickly and correct. Being hard working is a good thing to me and a lot of people appreciate it. |
